IRLGUIDEDOGS -- Guide Dog Users In Ireland

English (USA)

The IRLGuideDogs list has been set up by and for guidedog users in Ireland to promote the sharing and discussion of information, news and other topics specifically related to using a guide dog. The list is open to anyone but we do ask that people are either using a guide dog, thinking of geting a guide dog or work in some way with the training or those who use guide dogs.

This is an open and friendly list however moderation is used to ensure that the scope of the topics fall within the guidelines in the previous paragraph.

Every partnership between guide dog and handler is different. What works for one may not work for another. For this reason it is highly recommended that all suggestions given on this list relating to the health or work of a guide dog are used in conjunction with the advice provided by the highly skilled and experienced guide dog mobility instructors of Irish guide dogs for the blind. You are also asked to remember that ideas and opinions expressed on this list are those of the individual and may not reflect recommended guide lines or policies of Irish guide dogs. If you are in doubt as to anything relating to the work or well being of your guide dog you are advised to contact Irish guide dogs by phone at 1850-506-300 or if outside Ireland: 00353-(0)-21-4878-200.

IrlGuideDogs is an independent discussion list that benefits from participation from a number of instructors from Irish Guide dogs for the blind however the list is in no way connected with or affiliated with this organization. You can visit the Irish guide dogs for the blind website at
